Gordon Properties Holiday Schedule

Gordon Properties office holiday schedule

As we head into the holiday season, many of us are thinking of spending time with family and friends.  For some people, this means a chance to travel and for others, this means a chance to stay home and enjoy the season at our own pace.  No matter how you choose to spend the season, Gordon Properties wishes you a safe and happy holiday season.

Thanksgiving

The Gordon Properties office will be closed Thursday November 23, 2017 and Friday November 24, 2017 so our staff may celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.

Christmas and New Year’s

The Gordon Properties office will be closed Monday December 25, 2017 through Friday December 29, 2017.  We will also be closed on Monday January 1, 2018.  As a reminder, the Gordon Properties office is always closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

What to do when the office is closed?

For existing tenants, you may access your online tenant portal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at https://gordonproperties.appfolio.com/connect/users/sign_in.  From your tenant portal you can pay your rent and submit maintenance requests.  If you have a maintenance EMERGENCY, please text or call and leave a message for Rob Fowler at 503-481-6694.  Please make sure your message includes your name, your address and a return phone number.

A few reminders for our existing tenants:

If you are heading out of town for more than 7 days, please let Gordon Properties know.  We would appreciate the contact information of a house-sitter if you have one.  And if you will have guests staying with you for more than 14 days during any 12 month period, you need to let Gordon Properties know.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact our office!

Autumn is arriving and it’s time to prepare for the cooler weather!

As the weather cools, here are a few reminders from Gordon Properties:

  • To help your furnace run efficiently, clean or replace furnace filters regularly!
  • Yard work is a year-round project! Grass should not be more than ankle high, beds should be weeded and yard debris should be disposed of weekly.
  • If you have a window air-conditioning unit, please remember it must be removed no later than October 15th.

Your safety is important to Gordon Properties!

  • Please insure that you do not have anything blocking, touching, or within 24” of any heat source. This includes wall heaters, baseboard heaters, furnaces, fireplaces, etc.
  • Please insure you do not have anything within 24” of the water heater.

Don’t forget to test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms!

Please remember to test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms regularly!  The Portland Fire Marshal recommends testing your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms monthly.

Gordon Properties, Inc. has recently made the transition to all non-smoking properties.

Smoking and vaping is now prohibited anywhere on the property at all houses and plexes managed by Gordon Properties.  This includes, but is not limited to, tobacco, e-cigarettes
and marijuana.  In fact, any marijuana is NOT allowed at any property managed by Gordon Properties.  The federal Controlled Substances Act prohibits the manufacture, distribution or possession of marijuana and takes precedence over any state laws allowing for the medicinal or recreational use of marijuana.

Also, please remember that pets are not allowed at most of the properties managed by Gordon Properties. This includes visiting pets!  Unless you have written permission from Gordon Properties Inc, please do not bring any pets onto the property – visiting or otherwise – and do not allow any guests to bring pets onto your property.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact our office!

Gordon Properties, Inc. would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day!

We are excited for this upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend and would like to wish all our tenants and owners a safe and happy 4th of July!

Some safety reminders:

  • Only a responsible adult should be setting off fireworks and should be following the instructions on the packaging.  Fireworks should NEVER be set off in an enclosed space.
  • Outdoor grills / barbecues should be supervised at all times.  Grills must be used in an open area away from any buildings, landscaping, etc. that could catch fire.  Grill must be allowed to cool completely before being stored.
  • When the weather is hot it’s important to stay hydrated, use sun protection (broad-spectrum sunscreen and hats) and limit sun exposure during the hottest part of the day.
  • Drinking and driving do not mix!  Designate a sober driver, use public transportation, or call a taxi if your celebration includes alcohol.

Please keep in mind that everyone would like to enjoy the holiday and be courteous to your neighbors.

Tenants – please remember that you are responsible for the actions of your guests while they are at the rental property!

The Gordon Properties, Inc. office will be closed on Monday July 3rd and Tuesday July 4th in honor of Independence Day.

Please remember that rent is due on the 1st of each month and you have a grace period until midnight end of day on the 4th to pay without a late fee.  You can pay rent online anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – including on holidays! – through your tenant portal.  The dropbox at the office is cleared daily, even when the office is closed.  If you pay rent late in July, the late fee will not be excused due to the holiday.
